29. Camden Housing

A tour led by Berwyn Kinsey of housing in Camden

Camden, London

Berwyn Kinsey, architectural historian and enthusiast led an architectural walking tour through Camden Council’s affordable housing. The tour focused on the Gospel Oak area of the borough and took in perhaps one of the largest and most diverse groups of housing from the 1950s through to present-day infill, including how the influence of the borough architect Sydney Cook paved the way for modern social housing now. The tour began at Gospel Oak overground station and ended at Chalk Farm underground, culminating in a two and a half-hour immersive social housing delight!
