Reginald Uren's modernist town hall
Hornsey, London
Built-in 1934, Hornsey Town Hall is a grade II listed building designed by New Zealand architect Reginald Uren. It was the first significant building in the UK to be designed as a modernist building. Hornsey Town Hall is a public municipality serving the London Borough of Hornsey.
The facade is formed of dark brick and articulated into seven tall symmetrical bays overlooking the entrance courtyard and central water fountain. The balconies on the first floor are made of wrought iron.
